Three creative ways to use Brushstrokes in Canva

Canva online offers many excellent tools and features. Brushstrokes are one of them. I have created a couple of designs using BRUSHSTROKES so far but never came across such an authentic way of using it before I saw designs by Gleziel Magno. She is playing with these brushstrokes amazingly. See below some designs, she shared on the Facebook group "Canva design circle".

In my list of three, This is the number 1 way of using Bruskstrokes in Canva. The best thing is that Gleziel is sharing short and quick tutorials for each of her designs. I am sure once you will see the way she is creating her designs using brushstrokes, you will not only love her work but will also want to create something similar using canva brushstrokes.

2- You can stretch the brushstrokes as much as your requirements, change the color and place them on photos as per your need. You don't need to use specific frames or shapes. This option is workable when you need some edgy looks in your designs. It also gives some classy look.

3 - This option can is helpful when you need some peeled off or cut off effect. I used this technique for my design "Mango splash". For splash effect in this design, You can either download it from google (Ong file) or use already available water splashes from Canva elements.

How to Create Funland promotional video in Canva ?

Whenever I start creating something on CANVA, it takes me to the next level of creativity with its extraordinary features and elements. Sometimes I feel like, Oh Did I make it in canva? WOW!

You must have heard the famous quote by Milton Glaser :

"There are three responses to a piece of design - yes, no, and WOW!  

WOW is the one to aim for."

Over the weekend, I have created a promotional video for some Funland / Carnival. In this tutorial, I will guide you with the steps to create videos similar to this.

How to create a Puffy text effect in Canva?

Create Funland / Carnival promotional videos in Canva

Step-1- Search an element "Circular radiating rays" from the elements section that is the main element of this design. 

Step-2- Apply the color to the background as per your need.

Step-3- Change the color of the element "Radiating rays" into white. Stretch it on the canvas as per your need.

Step-4- Create ten copies of this slide.

Step-5- Now start playing with transparency for each slide. For the first slide, reduce the transparency level to "0". For the second slide, keep it with "10", for the third slide, keep it with "20" and then gradually increase it with 10 points up to 100 until the last slide.

Step-6- Now place all your other elements, Like "Joker" and "carnival", See below screenshots for your reference. 

Step-7- Now start applying the animations. Do not animate the first slide, Animate all next nine slides with "Rise".

Step-8- Set the timing of each slide with 1.5 seconds.

Step-9- Add the music of your choice. I applied "Fun Fact" from the canva music library. 

Step-10- Save all slides at once in the MP4 video format.

How to Design Logo, Business Card and Letterheads in Canva ?

Logos, Business cards, and Letterheads always play a vital role in the promotion of your company or brand. Although digital marketing has minimized the use of the business card and letterheads still their importance will remain alive for all the official agreements as well as for one on one business meetings.

Canva online is a tool that provides thousands of free templates along with extraordinary features to design all these brand kits. Below is the logo, card, and letterhead which I designed for my friend.

You only need to type relevant keywords in the search bar of their website front interface. Canva will show you plenty of options in your desire category. 

Recently I have created a logo, business card, and letterhead for one of my friends in canva.

I have designed it according to his requirement that helped me to learn so many new things which I wanted to share with you if you are also learning canva wholeheartedly.

My friend has suggested me to use the font "Bodoni MT Condensed", but this font was not available in canva. I searched for different websites and found the file of this font. How to upload any font into canva?

Canva offers to upload any outside logo, new color palettes, or fonts. This option is available for canva Pro users only. Don't worry, Canva offers 30 days free trial period for the pro version. You must try it to explore the different features of Canva. 

How to add the two-tone background gradient in Canva?

There are two options to add two-tone gradients in canva.

• You can either add it through the photos section or through elements.

• In photos, You need to type the keyword i.e Red gradient, etc but in the elements section, You just need to write "Gradient". If you need a specific shape then add it in your keyword i.e gradient rectangle.  

How to change the style and color of any font /background with one click in canva?

This option is also available for pro users only but you can try it with a free trial period.

If you need a net pattern that I used in my design, Just write "Net elements" in the elements section. You will get it.

Step 1 - Select any two photos from the photos section, remove the background from (effects - background remover). Clean the edges of your photo after background removal only if required, through a canva background removal brush. See the below images for your better understanding.

Step 2 - For the background color, use the photo color pallet so that you can stick yourself within the same color scheme while making your design.

How to create a double exposure effect in Canva?

Step 3 - This is one of the most important and tricky parts of this design. In which you know that how did I write builder with images on its top. I call it a double exposure technique in canva. Those who work on photoshop are familiar with this technique. In this tutorial, I tried to create something similar to that technique and was amazed to see the results in the end. 

Watch the below video for this technique in canva. You can fast forward it once you get the technique but don't forget to watch the last three minutes which are very important in this video. 

Step 4 - I created two versions of this design. In the first version, After I have done with step 3, grouped the complete working on BUILDER, flip it vertically, and reduce the transparency up to 70% to achieve some crystal shadow look. In the other version, I tried to achieve some looks similar to bricks for this bottom / flipped portion. To apply this brick effect, (Go to Effects - Select  Screen - Apply Canvas). How to create a glass effect on any image in Canva?

• As you have seen in the video above (1:10), You first need a shadow line, then stretch it as per your requirement. Reduce the transparency up to 36 and see the magic :)

Tips for the rest of the design.

• Write a pink gradient in Photos and apply it to the background as well as inside the upper frame.

• Use a photo of your model or product and remove its background with background removal.

• I have shared the downloadable links for all shadows effects in this tutorial.

• Use the textured wall photo and apply below shared adjustments.

• Use the simple black color inside the triangle.

• Use the lock sign for triangle and textured wall frames. You may find difficulty while adding shadows under frames and shapes if you will not lock elements before each step.

How to design a juice brand flyer in Canva?

Let' start with the designing of this flyer step by step.

Step 1 - Select the size of your design, I have selected Instagram size but this is up to your need or choice.

Step 2- Select the yellow gradient as shown in the image below.

How to create an orange can splash effect in Canva?

Step 7 - To write "Farm Fresh" and "Orangia", I have selected the font "Carlsons script",  but this is up to your choice. For the frame under "Farm Fresh", First Select frame from the elements as shown in the image below, Add a blue gradient inside it and then apply written text on it.

Step 8 - I have used four different shapes from the elements sections. See the below image for how I used all these shapes in this design for better understanding. 

Step 9 - For a motorbike, Ipad, cellphone, and loudspeaker. Write the relevant keyword in the photos section, you will get all. 

Step 10- For MEGA GIFTS and DRINK MORE, I used the font "Libre franklin Black".
