Whenever I design anything, I first engaged myself in a lengthy thought process, gather some ideas before converting them onto the canvas. Recently I have made a DJ party event poster in Canva. Before I share How I made this, Let me share a little concept behind this design.
Paint splashes - The use of paint splashes in two different colors with mixing on the wall are representing the couple who are being invited to join this party. Also, the spreading of the splashes are showing the free moves, which means you are not bound to dance in some specific dresses following specific rules.
Visible Text "Your" - Main reason to keep this text transparent was to keep the main object prominent. One of my fellow designers on the Facebook group suggested to keep it like other texts. I made this option and it is also looking nice. See below for your reference.
DJ Brave wrote at the edge - The main purpose is to represent the DJ at the side edge of the poster is to represent the guests as the soul of the party whereas DJ would be busy at the side to entertain them but one of my fellow designers on the Facebook group highlighted one very important technical point related to this option, See below for your reference. I have improved it as well. I also thought that it might be an issue when you need to print the design but Mohammed Suhel corrected me as well. His feedback is really admirable, please check below for your reference and learning as well.
Step 1- Select any suitable texture background, In my case, I had selected the below-shared background.
Important Tip - Reduce transparency and keep it between 70- 75.
Step 2 - Select any object from the Photos with a dancing posture and remove its background. This selection is totally up to you.
Step 3 - Search and get the paint splashes from the elements section and apply them onto the canvas.
Important Tip - Change the color of splashes matching to your object, Get the help from color palates. Also, flip the splashes into horizontal and vertical directions until you see the perfect placements.
Step 4- Select and apply elements "Guitar", "Music sign" and "LIVE" by writing Music in the search bar of Elements.
Step 6- For Text, I have used the font "Open Sans ", again this is up to your choice.
Step 7- For Shadow effect under the feet of the male dancer, Check this article and download it from my google drive.
Step 8- See the below video to know How I wrote and apply the text "SHOW YOUR MOVE" on the object as well as How to use the guides and rulers in Canva. You can apply the same rulers and guides on every page if you need to write the same or different texts in the same position again and again. This will be very helpful especially when you will be working on some presentations etc.
